Admission to the school is made with the understanding that parents
have familiarized themselves with the philosophy
and policies of Grace Lutheran School.
ENTRANCE AGE REQUIREMENTS
Pre-Kindergarten – All children entering Pre-Kindergarten must be four years of age before August 1.
Kindergarten – All children entering Kindergarten for the first time must have a birthdate before August 1.
First Grade – All children entering First Grade for the first time must be six years of age on or before August 1. State law requires that all children enter First Grade before they are seven years of age unless they are in Kindergarten.
Grace Lutheran School reserves the right to accept or decline enrollment determined by whether the school can meet the child’s needs. Enrollment may require certain academic adjustments or even a probationary period. The school also reserves the right to determine final grade placement for any applicant or present student based on educational need.
Grace is a school of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) and welcomes student of all religions. All students will have daily religion classes using curriculum prepared for LCMS elementary schools. Beginning with First Grade students have memory assignments twice a week. Students will learn the six chief parts of Luther’s catechism, books of the Bible, and selected Bible verses.
ENROLLMENT PRIORITY POLICY
1st Enrollment Period - Enrollment is open only to families with children currently enrolled and families that are members of LCMS churches.
2nd Enrollment Period - Open enrollment is on a first-come-first-serve basis until classes are filled. After classes are filled, students may be placed on a waiting list by submitting an application form.
Full payment of the current registration fee must be made
at the time of enrollment.
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
New Families
Parent(s) may obtain applications forms here. After completing the application, the parent(s) are encouraged to make an appointment with the principal. We request that parent(s) bring the application form, along with copies of all previous academic records (report cards and standardized tests) to the first visit. The child(ren) may be present at the first visit or at any follow-up visit. After the interview, the family will be notified of the child’s acceptance or denial of enrollment. If application of enrollment is accepted, the registration fee must be paid at the time of enrollment. Upon admission to the school, the secretary will request certain information and the completion of several forms.
Returning Families
During the first enrollment period for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-8, re-enrollment forms will be distributed to school families. The registration fee must be submitted with the form to reserve a place for the child(ren). No student is allowed to re-enroll unless all prior year tuition is paid by July 1.
