What is AR?
AR stands for Accelerated Reader. Books are assigned a reading level. Students take a test on the computer to determine their reading level and range. They can then check out and read books in their reading level. When they have finished a book, they take a test on the computer to assess their comprehension of the book.
What books are available for AR?
• log in to AR using your child’s user name and password
• click on Bookfinder on the bottom right
• enter the title of the book
What is the target AR quiz score?
If a student gets 100% on two or three consecutive quizzes, the books being read are not challenging enough. Therefore, a score of 80% to 90% is desirable. This score indicates that the book is not too easy, too hard, or too long.
